When the ball carrier loses the collision with the tackler, the defender pushes them back, and they fall backwards, starting a ruck. Also called a Passive Carry.

  • The defender wins the collision: the carrier is driven back and/or falls backward.
  • The carrier loses territory at the moment of contact.
