# Introduction

> What sessions are and how they work in Framesports.

## Session Overview

A **session** is any piece of footage you upload to Framesports for analysis, whether that's **match footage** or **training footage**.

* **Match sessions**: competitive fixtures (league, cup, friendlies), trial matches, or any recorded match
* **Training sessions**: practice runs, drills, or any recorded training activity

Both types can be manually clipped, but only match sessions receive full data collection and event labelling (tackles, carries, passes, tries, turnovers, and more).

To get started, connect a [video source](/sessions/video-sources) and [upload your first session](/sessions/uploading-and-analysis).

## Deleting or Archiving a Session

1. Go to the Sessions tab and click on the session.
2. Click on the settings for that session.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of settings and press **Archive**.

  <Accordion title="Can you analyse training footage?">
    You can upload training footage as a session and manually create clips from it to review and share specific moments. However, training sessions can't currently be analysed. Full data collection and event labelling (tackles, carries, passes, tries, etc.) is only available for match sessions.

  <Accordion title="What's the difference between training sessions and match sessions?">
    Both types can be uploaded, stored, and manually clipped. The key difference is that only match sessions can receive full analysis with event labelling, player statistics, social media content, WhatsApp clips, and development plans. Training sessions are available for clipping and review but do not receive event-level data collection.
