# Footage Requirements

> The links we can open, what to do with halves, long streams and sevens, and how to upload a file.

## What we need from the video

The file has to be a video (MP4 or MOV, for example). Player stats are matched to players by the number on the shirt, so the numbers need to be readable on camera.

## Links we can open

For Veo, YouTube and Google Drive we have to be able to open the link without signing in. Hudl and SuperSport Schools work differently.

* Veo: share the recording so the link opens publicly, or connect your Veo account under **Settings → Automatic uploads**.
* YouTube: unlisted or public. A private video cannot be opened by anything outside YouTube.
* Google Drive: set the file to "anyone with the link".
* Hudl: paste Hudl's **Email Download Link**, or connect your Hudl account. A hudl.com/watch page link on its own does not work.
* SuperSport Schools: paste the event link. You do not need to make it public.

Vimeo, Dropbox, WeTransfer and most other video links work too.

If we cannot open a link, the session shows **Downloading footage needs you** when we have a question for you, or **We could not get this footage** with an **Add footage to this session** button. Fix the link or upload the file instead.

Do not delete the video from the platform it came from, or make it private, until the session has finished processing.

## Uploading a file

Press **Upload from your computer instead**, then drop the video in or press **browse for it**. You can carry on with the rest of the wizard while it uploads. Keep the tab open: **Start analysis** unlocks when the upload finishes. Press it, and then you can close the laptop.

## Filmed in halves

Don't start a separate session for each half; two sessions are analysed as two matches. Tell us through **Contact us** in the app (the menu under your name at the bottom of the sidebar) before you start the analysis and we merge the halves into one session. See [Merging two halves](/sessions/video-sources#merging-two-halves-or-multiple-files).

## One long stream with several games in it

Choose **Part of Video** when the wizard asks how much to analyse, and set the start and end time. To get several games out of one stream, add the same link as separate sessions with different start and end times. Each one is analysed as its own session.

## Sevens and tournaments

Add each match as its own session. A sevens session is analysed for 30 minutes from its start time, enough for one match with the walk-out and half time; anything after that is not analysed. For a tournament stream, add the same link once per match with **Part of Video** and that match's start time.
