# Training Sessions

> How training sessions work in Framesports, including uploading practice footage, clipping it, and how it differs from match analysis.

A **session** is any footage you upload to Framesports. Sessions come in two types:

* **Match sessions**: competitive fixtures, trials, or any recorded match. These receive full data collection.
* **Training sessions**: practice runs, drills, or any recorded training activity.

This page covers training sessions specifically. For match analysis, see [Uploading & Analysis](/1.0/sessions/uploading-and-analysis).

## What you can do with a training session

Training footage lives alongside your matches in the **Sessions** tab. You can:

* **Upload** it from any of your connected [video sources](/1.0/sessions/video-sources), exactly like a match.
* **Watch** the full footage and **manually clip** any moment you want to review or share. See [Watching & Clipping](/1.0/sessions/watching-and-clipping).
* **Add clips to presentations** and share them with players and staff, just like match clips.

## What's different from a match session

Training sessions are **not** automatically analysed. Only match sessions receive full event labelling and the features that depend on it:

| Feature | Match session | Training session |
| ------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------- | ---------------- |
| Watch & manually clip | ✓ | ✓ |
| Add to presentations & share | ✓ | ✓ |
| Event labelling (tackles, carries, passes, tries, turnovers…) | ✓ | ✗ |
| Player & team statistics | ✓ | ✗ |
| Automated post-match clips (WhatsApp/email) | ✓ | ✗ |
| Social media content | ✓ | ✗ |
| Development plans & IDPs | ✓ | ✗ |

In short: training sessions are for **review and sharing**, not for automated stats. If you need event-level data and player statistics, upload the footage as a match session and run analysis on it.

  <Accordion title="What's the difference between a training session and a match session?">
Both can be uploaded, stored, watched, and manually clipped.
